In order to help with problems and make life changes, we use a combination of counselling, psychotherapy, and hypnotherapy in a safe and confidential way. We can help you with –
SLEEP - CONFIDENCE – STRESS – ANXIETY – RELATIONSHIPS
Counselling: Counselling is the systematic guidance offered by a counsellor/therapist during which problems are discussed and advice given. Counselling helps you find a way to deal with the problems you are experiencing in your life, problems you may not wish to discuss with family or friends. Possibly your difficulty is recurring, where mistakes are repeated despite every effort being made to the contrary. Our sessions, therefore, help you to look at the issues that concern you and the various options available, as well as taking positive action to find the solution.
Hypnotherapy: What we call hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis in the treatment of emotional and psychological problems. Hypnotherapy is a positive and non-addictive power for good that improves both your physical and mental health. During hypnosis you are not asleep, and you remain in control throughout - it has no unwanted or unpleasant side effects, and everyone can benefit.
To assist relaxation we use hypnosis, a normal, natural state of deep relaxation whereby the unconscious mind becomes accessible; in this heightened state of awareness therapeutic suggestions for change can be given. Many assertive, defensive and management techniques are available for use in appropriate circumstances. Deep relaxation is the starting point for stress management.
Psychotherapy: Psychotherapy is the treatment of nervous disorders by psychological methods. This looks at the causes of problems – perhaps in childhood – and uses a variety of techniques to help you towards a more permanent solution. We use methods from many psychotherapeutic schools, selecting, with your help, methods that are most likely to assist you, often using them in combination with hypnosis. Many problems arise if the unconscious mind misinterprets current or past events. Analysis helps you to remove these misinterpretations, leaving you free to be yourself, free from past constraints, with increased self-awareness and confidence.
Free First Consultation
Before you commit yourself, we offer a free first consultation lasting about 40 minutes, during which time you can discuss the problem or difficulty you are experiencing, relevant information about your background and what you are seeking in coming to a therapist.
You can take this time to ask any questions regarding our professional history, qualifications and the way we work. Following our discussion and our initial assessment, we will be able to advise you on the type and number of sessions, which are likely to be needed.
The number of sessions needed varies according to personality, age and length and type of presenting problem or change sought.
